A vasectomy reversal can open the door to new possibilities and renewed dreams of growing your family. This page is your guide to understanding vasectomy reversals, the services we offer, and how we can help you on this journey. Let’s take the first step together.
Using advanced microsurgical techniques, the procedure is tailored to your unique situation, with the goal of achieving the best possible outcome. Whether years or decades have passed since your vasectomy, a reversal can offer a second chance to expand your family.
Our clinic offers two types of reversals:
Vasovasostomy (VV)
This is the most common vasectomy reversal procedure. In a vasovasostomy, the surgeon reconnects the two ends of the vas deferens that were cut during the original vasectomy. This creates a direct pathway for sperm to travel from the testicles to the semen. A vasovasostomy is typically performed when sperm is present in the fluid within the vas deferens near the site of the vasectomy.
Vasoepididymostomy (VE)
This is a more complex procedure used when a vasovasostomy isn’t sufficient, often due to a blockage or scarring in the epididymis (the coiled tube where sperm matures and is stored). In a vasoepididymostomy, the surgeon connects the vas deferens directly to the epididymis to bypass the blockage. This technique is often necessary if the vasectomy was performed many years ago or if other factors are affecting the reproductive tract.
